Welcome to Clerc's Children
In response to Universal Newborn Hearing Screening, Clerc's Children provides an innovative early intervention service targeting deaf and hard of hearing infants and toddlers, ages 0-5 and their parents. Clerc's Children is a web-based dual language curriculum filled with auditory and visual stimulation which plays an important role in developing age appropriate reading, writing, and communication skills.
- Providing parents & infant teachers the tools to promote early interaction through dual language development.
- Working with health care providers & teachers and parents, to establish a foundation of learning.
- Preparing Deaf & HH toddlers for National Pre-K Standards and early literacy by teaching dual language skills.
Who is Laurent Clerc?
Laurent Clerc, a deaf teacher, played a pivotal role in bringing deaf education to America with Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet. Clerc's life mission was to educate deaf and hard of hearing children to be literate, fluent in communication and successful multi-lingual citizens as he was.
