Research has proven the importance of play in the lives of young children. Specifically, the call for technology to be introduced to children is strong. Research has demonstrated that computer games and other digital technologies can help foster a sense of community and improve thinking skills in very young children. In addition, game playing allows for a sense of accountability on behalf of the parents while also providing an effortless way of managing their child's progress.
This is a place for your child to practice their newly learned skills in a fun interactive environment. Games include printable coloring pages with pictures, exposure to English print, ASL signs and more. Every 6 months your child will be prompted to play a special assessment game that will help monitor their progress and identify areas that need more work.
Sit by your child and give positive reinforcement throughout the game. Even if your child gets a wrong answer encourage him to try again and don't act disappointed. Making mistakes is an effective way to learn. If your child looks to you for answers, encourage him to try to answer himself by saying, "Think for yourself." And when he does get it right offer enthusiastic praise.
