Our Goal.

Clerc's Children responds to NAEYC's call for every child to meet the National Pre-K Standards whether the child is hearing, deaf, hard or hearing or a Kid of Deaf Adults (KODA.) We are putting the power into the hands of parents and infant teachers with Clerc's Children's curriculum, resources and tools.

The Objective.

The Learning Circle is where all the learning takes place. Choose from 24 core curricular lessons taught at 5 different levels designed to help your child meet the National Pre-Kindergarten Standards (alphabet, numbers, colors, feelings, shapes, pronouns, etc.). Each lesson consists of vocabulary and phrases signed, written, and spoken with accompanying pictures and visual clues. Tips are also provided to help parents incorporate newly learned vocabulary and phrases into daily routines and everyday life. Don't miss out on exposure to foreign languages too, such as Spanish and Japanese.

How it works.

Two lessons are released each month. Depending on the age and communication skill of your child, select from five levels of curriculum lessons that teach vocabulary and phrases to develop your child's dual language skills. There are two activities you can do with your child, Sign Along which focuses on your child's expressive skills and Listening which focuses on auditory stimulation, the first step to developing speech. Clerc's Children uses an innovative approach of visual phonological stimulation to help build sound - language connection. Sit with your child as they go through the lesson and encourage them to sign and speak with you and repeat what is being taught. Do it with them, learn together.
